Newton's first law of motion states that "Any object continues in its state of rest or motion unless it is compelled by a net external force." ... Rolling friction occurs because the objects in contact are not perfectly rigid. Ideally, when a ball is placed on a rough surface, only one point of the ball touches the ground.

Newton first law inertia states that an object will be in motion it will remain in motion till external force applied on it and vice -verca .in the given question a ball roll on ground stop its own due to force of friction(a force resistive force) applied by the ground which make the ball stop
