To any civilized society, the freedom of speech is one of the most important prospect that ensures its independence and integrity. The freedom of speech empowers a society to raise the voice against wrong, to appreciate and acknowledge the right and to bring forth the opinions that matter for the betterment of a nation.
In recent times, the definition of freedom of speech has become so dodgy. There's been some incidents when wrongdoings persisted in the name of FOS, and then there are examples of governments suppressing the FOS in the name of law. There is a very thin line between using and exploiting the FOS. In my opinion, one should enjoy the freedom of speech until and unless his speech is tarnishing the social fabric, unity and sovereignty of the nation.
