Is frictional force a contact force? Why?

yes, it is because in frictional force 2 objects are physically touching and are in contact with one another..

Friction force is an example of Contact force.

Reason....

Friction force occurs only when two bodies are in physical contact with each other.So it is reffered to as Contact force.


Some examples like....


Friction between the tyres of vehicle and road.

Friction between pen and paper.
