1.
State the corelation, if any, between the speed of light in a medium and its optical
density
2. Why does a pencil appear bent when it is partially dipped in water?
3. Trace the path of rays in the following ray diagrams:
4. Where should we keep an object in front of a convex lens so as to get its virtual and
magnified image?
5. Explain, with at least two illustrations, how we can use any two of three (special)
incident rays to draw ray diagrams for obtaining the details of images formed by

Answer:

1. Speed of light in a medium and it's optical density are inversely proportional to each other i.e. if speed of light increases then it's optical density will decreases and vice versa.

2. Thus is particularly due to refraction of light which changes it's angle when entering into a medium from another medium . Here, the pencil is dipped in water coming from rarer medium to denser medium so it appears to be bent in shape.

3. where are the diag??

4. The object should be kept between focus(f) and optical center (o) to obtain virtual and magnified image.

5. in the pic buddy...

hope this helps you mate
