I think Percentage system is better.
When we give grades the students are more to receive the same grade. Whereas, the real competition comes when we are given the percentage. The students burn the midnight oil in order to score the best.
Because they can't afford to lose by 0.01 % also. It doesn't mean that in grading system competition is not there, but the thing is that we find it more difficult to get the result in percentage.
For Example, a student scores 92% and the other scores 95%.
The one scoring more has definitely worked harder. Then why should they both be praised in quantity,i.e. when they get grades, both are getting 'A' grade.
Whereas, when we see the same thing in percentage system, we find the difference between the achievements of both the students.
The one who has sown well, reaps well. So, I guess percentage system is better one as we come to know the actual rank of a person. We come to know where we actually stand. It is more helpful when we need to prepare for competitive exams.
Hope it helps:)

Percentage system is better and is accepted world wide
Two competers may get same Grade , but not marks or percentage . Gardes are given from some percentage to some . Like u will get OUTSTANDING GRADE if u get between 91% to 100% . One competitor has got 92% but other has got 91% . Though they have difference in marks and percentage , byt boty will get outstanding grade . It becomes difficult to judge who is the best with grades , but not with percentage . Percentage is more reliable and prominent and also easy to maintain and record . A person who has scored more and worked hard whole night to be the best and other who only read till 9 o clock scored less but got the same grade . Both will be praised as they scored the highest grade . If we measure in percentage then the one who spent midnight will be honoured . So in my veiws percentage system is better.
