no grading is not better as you dont really come to know in which part of your exam you lost max. marks. marking system will precisely tell you where you stand. in grading system as we know different grades are there for different scores,eg, A+ for scoring 90 and above,in this system competition is hardly there as one who is scoring 90 will get a+,one scoring 99 will also get a+
