is green manure a chemicalm Can it affect crops in negative way
Answers
Answer:
No green manure is not a chemical. It is obtained by nature like decomposed animal wastes or cow dung etc. It also does not affect crops in fact it boosts their fertility.
Explanation:
Green manure can be applied in two different ways: one in which the green manure crop and the main crop are cultivated in the same plot in different seasons, and another in which the green manure crop is cultivated in a different place and transported to the main crop plot (Skuodienė et al., 2012).

7.6.1.3 Green Manures
Green manures are made by incorporating plant materials (either freshly cut weeds or rotation crop debris) into soils while still green. Upon decay, green manures enrich the soil with organic matter and to a lesser extent with nutrients such as N and P. Ample time for the green manure to decompose should be allowed between the incorporation of weed/crop debris in the soil and the planting of the new crop. The most commonly used green manures in Southern Africa are velvet beans (Mucuna pruriens); lablab (Lablab purpureus); sunn hemp (Crotalaria juncea), Crotalaria grahamiana, Tephrosia vogelii, and several others.
