H2O is both a molecule and compound.because it is made up from atoms of 2 hydrogen atoms. It's also a compound because H reacts with oxygen to form water.
A molecule is a combination of atoms. A compound is a combination of elements.
Hope this helps.

manvicutie1: What's difference between molecule and compound
alfredmelwin25p5fmxx: molecule is a combination of two atoms. Whereas a compound is a mixture of two elements.
alfredmelwin25p5fmxx: you can also write examples for each as hydrogen molecule and H2O.

It is a molecule as it is a mixture of two atoms .The mixture of two elements give us compounds . but H2O has two elements which is H2 and O which are hydrogen and oxygen respectively which are two elements . Therefore H2O is a compound not a element.
