Hey dear here is ur answer......
HCLis a molecule as ionic compounds are those in which elements lose or gain electrons and make ionic bonds with each other . but in this case hydrogen want to complete it's duplet by gaining one electron and chlorine want to complete it's octet it also wants one electron .so to solve both problems they form a covalent molecule as they both share electrons with each other and make covalent bonds. Small molecules of HCL exist but these molecules can't join with each other as there valency is completed. so hope u understood
