When we hear something, we might be or might not be paying attention to it while on the other hand we have our full attention and concentration to the topic while listening.

We hear a number of things but don’t remember all of them while the things we listen are retained in mind.

Hearing is not synonymous to listening. Hearing is the strength to hear. Whether a person pay attention or not, it is normal that he/she automatically hear anything and it is called hearing.
