No height and weight is different globally because in Europen heritage it is 3.5kg though the range is common between 2.5kg to 5 kg( all but 5 percent of newborn babies will fall into this range). Babies of south asian and chinese heritage weigh 250 grams or less.
There have been numerous studies that have attempted, with verifying with degrees of success to show link between birth weight and later life conditions , including diabetes, obesity tabacco smoking and intelligence. Low birth weight is associated with the neonatal infection.
