Yes, human responsible for ecological imbalance. For ecological imbalance mainly or rather fully Humans are responsible. According to my Environmental Education book- the SAHARA desert was once a greenland but due to killing of Tigers and Lions the number of Herbivorous animals increased and that led to the formation of the biggest Desert in the world. 
So in this case as well humans were responsible
