Is is Pitcher plant can do photosynthesis if yes why do they feed on insects

they can't do photosynthesis because they are parasite which occur their nutrients from the host body and harm the host body

Yes . pitcher plant perform photosynthesis to synthesize the food but they don't get nitrogen so they eat insects to get this nitrogen for their growth..
