A despotism is a form of government in which a single entity rules.Despotism is a form of government characterized by a single ruling entity with absolute power. The single entity can be an individual,autocracy, or a group, oligarch.


The difference between a despotism and a monarchy is that a goverment in a despotism usually rules by his/her own rules, while a monarch usually has to follow established laws. Examples of despotisms countries include North Korea, China, Cuba, and Venezuela.


The despotism work against a nation's development such as it gives no individual freedom, supressing the threats for total control.The structure of despotism reflects how the decisions are made, what are the provisions for succession, is it ruled by constitution or not, etc.

Despotism does not have majority rule. Heritance is the preferred for succession in despotism.Parliament and Constitution is absent in despotism
