Is it correct to say that an ogive is a graphical representation of a frequency distribution ? Give reason. If x is the mean of ten natural numbers, x1, x2, x2....x10show that..(x1 - x) +(x2 - x) + (x3-x)+.......+(x10-x) = 0

OGIVE is the name given to the graphical representation of cumulative frequency distribution of data divided into classes with intervals.  The cumulative frequency is plotted against the upper limit of the class interval.

\bar{x}=\frac{1}{10}\Sigma_1^{10}x_i=\frac{x_i+x_2+x_3+...+x_9+x_{10}}{10},\ \ --(1)\\\\LHS=(x_1-\bar{x})+(x_2-\bar{x})+(x_3-\bar{x})+....+(x_{10}-\bar{x})\\\\=(x_1+x_2+x_3+...+x_9+x_{10})-10*\bar{x}\\\\=10*\bar{x}-10*\bar{x},\ \ \ using(1)\\\\=0
