Time zones are strange old things, especially the way they prescribe one ... to Spain, whose time zone means that, say, Madrid's sunset is more.

Yes because for proof we also have jantar mantar also . It has some buildings on which when the sun shadow falls shows the correct time and in ancient time there were no clocks also

Yes it is corrrect to say that local time is the sun time because in older days when there were no clocks people used to see time by observing the Sun.For ex jantar mantar which is a perfect example to see movement of sun.Later on clocks,watches etc invented and people left to observe time by sun and have clocks in their home etc.clocks are also build by observing sun.So i will prefer sun as a natural source of local time
