Is it ethically/morally wrong to kill any fetus that has the potential to life?
Answers
In essence, a person who is living, in general usage, is someone who is sentient. This implies that an animal, a human, a baby, etc. Anyone who is aware of their surroundings and is conscious is considered living. Therefore, if the person in question will not be able to differentiate between their state of death and life, then they cannot be considered to be living. In the case of a foetus, somatosensory information is usually pronounced after week 18-25. This implies that their consciousness builds from hereon. So, prior to this point in time, killing the foetus should be considered ethical, and after that, unethical. On the contrary, in the case the mother develops a condition which threatens her life, or may do so, in those cases, killing the foetus would be ethical, to an extent. Although legal, it leaves an important ethical quandary behind.
