Hi Gaurav!
that's quite a thoughtful question....
Well accroding to me it is absolutely not right to have gender stereotypes in what girls and boys should play...
Earlier there was a lot of discrimination between girls and boys...Sports were, then only meant to be a manly job. Many talented young girls were not allowed to play and excel in the sports they desired so intensely...
But later girls began to speak up and show their might...
In games like basketball etc. they had to wear shorts, and many found this shameful on their part. Girls were teased about their dress and yet they faced all this silently. It was only later that girls started to shine in the field of sports..
Geeta and Babita Phogat did what no boy could have done...They have prooved that girls are no less than boys....
If they have the will, they can even beat boys in a match...In the fields of cricket, badminton etc. women like Saina Nehwal, Mary Kom etc. have really done a great job....They have succeeded in whatever they wished to do..
Hence there should not be any taboos on the sort of games to be played by girls and boys alike....
