Yes it is good to have political competition because elections are all about competition . If there is political competition many parties and candidates come up which ultimately give a wide range of options for the people to elect. But political competition also give rise to malpractices such as rigging and booth capturing.

( - ) Due to high political competition and harassment the people who wish to serve the nation hesitate to enter the arena of politics. 

MERITS

( - )  All political leaders know that what is good for the nation thus, die to political competition they raise issues of public interest and thus it leads to the welfare of the citizens. 

( - ) If the political want to say in power they have to serve the people and fulfill their requirements. Thus, political competition again improves the welfare of the people. 

( - ) The final power remains in the hand of the citizens.
