It is not good to have political competition because:
-Parties and candidates often use dirty tricks to win election.
-It creates a sense of disunity & factionalism in every locality.
-Different political parties & leaders often levels allegations against one another.
-Some good people who may wish to serve the country do not enter this arena as they do not like the idea of being dragged into unhealthy competition.
-Some people say that this pressure to win electoral fights does not allow sensible long term policies to be formulated.

It is always good to have political competition between political parties on principals and not on communal and caste factors. We cannot play football or cricket with only one team. Same way if there is no political competition and there is only one political party, then it is just like dictatorship. We can observe many examples like these, where only party ruled. For example Baath Party in Iraq, Nazi Party in Germany. Many dictators who ruled in many countries of the world like Fidel Castro in Cuba General Jia-Ul-Haq in Pakistan, Qaddafi in Libya etc are also example of it.
The political competition should be on the grounds of welfare of people and not on the grounds of violence and communalism. So,it should be healthy.
