hello friend !! here is your answer....☺☺

no, it is not good to pollute holy rivers in the name of faith and religion as Research by the CPCB shows that idol immersion during hindu festivals is bad on rivers, lakes and local ponds. Plaster of Paris does not dissolve easily and contains harmful substances such as gypsum, sulphur, phosphorus and magnesium. And chemical dyes and colours used on the idols contain poisonous elements as well. Immersion of these idols poisons lakes, rivers and the sea by increasing acidity and the content of heavy metals, killing fish, damaging aquatic plants and blocking the natural flow of water, causing stagnation. Pollution of drinking water sources could mean breathing problems, and blood and skin diseases.

hope it helped :)

The Bagmati River is an auspicious river considered pious by Hindus & Buddhist. It flows through the Katmandu valley and plenty of temples are constructed on the banks of river Bagmati.

The Bagmati River is constantly contaminated by untreated sewage water and a large number of religious waste are dumped in the river water. The recent study reveals that the dissolved oxygen (DO) and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) of Bagmati River is relatively good during monsoon season than in dry season due to a continuous flow of water during monsoon.

The proper solution is, with immediate effect an integrated team of river water management should take care of the issue to save the ecological disturbances.
