Yes,for the longest jump the player should throw himself at an angle of 45° with respect to horizontal.

the vertical height for this angle is
H= u^2 sin^2 45°/2g= u^2/4g
where u is the velocity of projection.If the vertical height is Different from u^2/4g,then the angle will be different from 45° and the horizontal distance covered will also be less.

Clearly,the span of jump depends upon

i.) the initial velocity of the jump,
ii.) the angle of projection.

✌♥✌hey mate here is your answer ✌♥✌

It does not matter how high an athlete jumps in a long jump. The span of long jump depends upon the initial velocity and the angle at which an athlete jumps. The span of jump is maximum for an angle of 45°.

ong jump is an example of projectile motion for long jump the range of projectile should be maximum. We know that the formula for horizontal rang for projectile motion is-
R=Vo2sin2θg
Thus the horizontal range R of a projectile depends upon the projection angle θ and initial velocity Vo.
The range will be maximum when sin2θ = 1 or θ = 450.
So Maximum Range = Rmax = Vo2g
Thus Range does not depend upon how much height you take for jumping.

hope it will help you
