Hey! Even I want to do aeronautical engineering or aerospace engineering. Well, I am preparing for JEE Mains(NIT) and JEE Advance (IIT). I am in 11th standard now and taking coaching for IIT examination. My dad is also an IITian. So his suggestion is that if you want to do aeronautical engineering, then its not necessary to give IIT because even many great private institutions also provide such education. But if you want to have job abroad in this line, then IIT is a must. But you can get great job facilities through private institutions too. In IIT, if you get good rank and get a seat in aeronautical engineering stream, then they automatically select you from your campus and take you abroad or somewhere in India for great jobs with a good salary amount. AmritaD: Benefits of IIT is that the dealers themselves come and select you by which in turn you can get a high position job abroad and also without much expenditure of yourself because they select you by seeing your performance in IIT...means your projects and experiments that you are allotted to you in a group.

AmritaD: But in case of private, dealers from abroad don't come and take you. You yourself have to complete the whole 5 year course first and then go by yourself abroad in search of jobs. In IIT, if your performance becomes good, then you don't even have to complete the 5 years in IIT institute. They select and take you in the 3rd or 4th year itself and let you study abroad in institutions like MITs or provide you direct jobs.
