is it is important to increase the area under irrigation?why?

Yes it is important to irrigate more and more area because of the growing population we need more and more food so, it is important to keep soil irritating.
And for other reason to protect the area from DESERTIFICATION,if we do so we can produce more crops easily when required.

well....it is very important to increas he area under irrigation.....first what is term irrigation?....it means it is artifcial application of water to the land or soil....it is used in growing crop and maintainance of landscapes..it is the main process because of irrigation the crops are grown.....and as the population is also increasing .....so we have to increse our area under irrigation.......ok...
