is it likely that someone who is original and intelligent does not do very well at school? should such a learner be called failure? if not, why not?​

It is possible that one may be very intelligent but might not have good grades because some people are not interested in book learning instead they are interested in virtual or innovation method of learning . So calling people like that "failure" isn't the right thought.
