No. Chromosomal abnormalities do not occur in every individual. However certain factors like increased maternal and/or paternal age can increase the incidence of having chromosomal abnormality in the offsprings. Women older than 35 years of age are more likely to have a child with Down's syndrome and other malformations. Increase in paternal age can lead to a condition called 'achondroplasia' which results in dwarfism. There are other chromosomal abnormalities that doesn't depend on the age of the parents.
