Reproduction is a important factor for keeping the organisms' exisitence in the race. But the fact of it being sexually or asexually doesnt matter. But it could be noticed that sexual reproduction is followed by much advance group.

Sexual reproduction in plants is important as there is variation taking place, but this process is not necessary as the offspring produced may not resemble the parent progeny and they may not be 100% viable. There can be vegetative propagation where the offspring resembles the mother plant without any variations.these process take place naturally.
