I myself am an atheist. It is simply ur belief, u r not disrespecting anyone by saying you dont believe in their god. They should accept you for you. You have ur reasons for not believing just as religious people have reasons for believing. Bein anti-religious is very disrespectful though. Making fun of someone's religion is disrespectful or judging them for their belief.

Being atheist is a bit disrespectful because that individual does not believe in GOD who created this whole world,
who created us and because of who we are alive and can enjoy, celebrate, can be happy. It is true that sometimes God do out of our thoughts to us and do worse to us but when He close one door then He open many other doors. Let me tell you an incident to interpret it, You must have heard about Prince Dhruv who after being defied and not acknowledged by his father seeked for shelter at God's feet. It is well known that Lord Vishnu took him under his patronage.
For God we all are like his own child, and should a child stop believing his own father ?
I will advise you that it is to show
foolishness by being an atheist.
Apart from not being an atheist we
should also not mock or ridicule any
other religion.
