Is it possible to construct a quadrilateral ABCD in which AB=3cm,BC=4cm,CD=5.5cm,DA=6cm and BD=9cm? if not,give reason.

Given --

AB = 3 cm

BC = 4 cm

CD = 5.5 cm

DA = 6 cm

BD = 9 cm

Here, consider the △ABD within the quadrilateral.

AB + AD = 3 + 6 = 9 cm and BD = 9 cm

[According to property of traingle,

Sum of any two sides of a triangle is always greater than the third side.]

But in the given sum other two sides of the triangle is same as the third side.

Hence, we cannot construct such a quadrilateral.
