Answer:

Tapioca grow in hot climates

Any well drained soil preferably red lateritic loam with a pH range of 5.5 -7.0 is best suited for tapioca cultivation. It thrives best in tropical, warm humid climate with well distributed rainfall of over 100 cm per annum. This crop can be cultivated upto an elevation of 1000 m.

In Bengal summer can be extremely hot and have high humidity. The plains of South Bengal have a daily maximum temperature around 35-38 °C.It can also exceed 40 °C. The western highlands experience a dry summer like northern India.

The soil of West Bengal is broadly divided into four types - Mountain soils, Alluvial soils, Red soils and Saline soils.
