Explanation:

Atomic number is the sum of total number of protons present in an atom. So, these numbers are always present in whole number and they are never present in fraction.

This is because an atom can contain one, two or more number of protons but an atom can never ever have 1.5, 1.3 or 2.8 number of protons.

For example, a sodium atom contains 11 protons.

Therefore, we can conclude that it is not possible to have an element with atomic number 1.5 placed between hydrogen and helium.
