Coal is formed by a certain process.Millions years ago trees were covered under soil due to several topographical factors or earthquake. Then by the pressure of surface of earth and temperature under surface and also due to bacterial interaction and by some chemical reactions, they turned in coal.
same thing occurred when in case of dead animal bodies then petroleum was formed.
Both formation process include complex chemical reactions and also bacterial interactions which is impossible to be provided in labratory. The temperature and pressure required for those reactions can't be created in laboratories. So they can't be prepared in laboratories.
