is it possible to see the pole star for the people who live in Southern hemisphere of the earth why

When standing on the equator you can see the North Star on the northern horizon. The pole star lies in a direction above the axis of rotation of the Earth. The southern hemisphere is on the other half on the Earth's curvature. Hence we can't see the pole star from there.
