If you drop an object and there is no inertia, the obejct immediately accelerates to its terminal speed, falls to the ground, and sticks to the ground (without breaking).

If there will be no inertia then Objects would stop moving as soon as there was no longer any force being applied to them. The Earth would stop spinning, light wouldn't move, and particles would fall apart.
