is it possible to write down the electronic configuration of an atom if we know its atomic number ?why is it so?

yaa we can write because atomic number is no.of electrons present in nucleus of an atom and electronic configuration is arrangement of electron in different shell.Each can carry only certain no.of electron.the no.of electron a shell can carry can be known by formula 2n where n is no.of shell
