Answer:

wrong

let

a=2 and b=3

{a}^{2}=4~ and ~{b}^{2}=9

4-9= -5

And

  ({2 - 3})^{2}  =  { - 1}^{2}  = 1 \\  ({a - b})^{2}  =  {a}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}  - 2ab

Answer:

 {a}^{2}  -  {b}^{2}  =  {(a - b)}^{2}  \: is \: wrong.

Suppose a = 10 and b = 1

 {a}^{2}  -  {b}^{2}  =  {(10)}^{2}  - ( {1})^{2}

  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: = 100 - 1

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  = 99

( {a - b})^{2}  = ( {10 - 1})^{2}

  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  = ( {9})^{2}

  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: = 81
