is it right to commit a crime in order to fulfill one's hobby? Discuss from the lesson a question of trust

Answer:
Let me begin with one of the questions and answers from the story. The answer is considered right by students and the teachers too.
Question: Do you think Horace Danby was unfairly punished, or that he deserved what he got?
Answer: He deserved what he got. A crime is a crime no matter if it is committed a hundred times or just once.
The final verdict is therefore:
Horace deserved what he got. A crime is crime no matter if it is committed a hundred times or just once. However these particular case that let his arrest revealed his past records of stealing. Had he not been arrested, he would continue robbing every year. Therefore, he deserved the punishment.
My conclusion:
I don't agree with the answer. A verdict should be based on what exactly happened between Horace and the unnamed lady. To say that if Horace had not been arrested, he would continue robbing every year, is an assumption. He may or he may not commit theft in the future. We cannot foretell the future.
The lady in the house pretended to be the owner and Horace trusted her words. She was a thief too, but Horace did not suspect her and trusted her. Horace steals unexpectedly. He doesn't build a bond of trust first. The unknown lady is also a thief but she went further in building a bond of trust and intentionally broke that trust.
Horace gets angry because he was tricked by a young lady who was also a thief like him. Horace landed up in the prison because of her. Horace was angry and he should be angry under the circumstances. It's a pity that he alone was arrested.
I absolutely agree that it is not right to commit a crime in order to fulfill one's hobby. But I also believe he was treated unfairly. Readers are guilty of making a judgement based on the past history of Horace. The author did not tell us about the past life of the unknown lady. Readers should consider both sides of the coin before making a final decision. That Horace got what he deserved is rather unfair in the light of what transpired between him and the lady. The lady is not only cunning but ruthless too.
