Totally.
It is not the degree that makes you. But the way you interact, use that degree and bring up your life. Above that, a job or your stature in society is by the way you act/ behave and your words.
You may have PhD/ Post- doc or even MBA or anything, but if your behavior is arrogant and egoistic, nobody would be ready to work with you. The piece of paper would still be hanging nicely on your wall.
Above degree, if people feel very comfortable with you, they would come for collaboration, interactions and engagement.
Unfortunately no human is an island. Social and professional interactions matter much more in a career than just a degree.
