Is it true that when a new species emerges ,the old species is eliminated and why?

Yes this is absolutely true the reason being is variation continuous due to sexual reproduction.only the specie which is best reproductively fit survives and the rest is elimlinated acc to darwin

Yes, it is true that when a new species emerges, the old species get eliminated.

When a new species comes into being, it is better adapted to suit the environment than the older species.

As a result, it gets acclimatized in a better way with its surroundings.

The older species may not be so much adaptable to the changes and gradually, it gets extinct.

However, an elimination may take millions of years to occur and may not always be a fast process as what happened to dinosaurs.
