is it true that when new species emerge , old species are eliminated? why?

may be or may not be bacause a species sustain in nature only if it evolve and resist harsh enviorment those survive they sustain and any new character built in species may result to a new species lets take an example if a black species of rose is evolved from that of red then it would be a new species an if this species has a special character which helps it to sustain changing enviorment then this species will emerge and other may eleminate

No, it is not true that when a new species is emerged, the old species is eliminated. Because when there is a change in any species, the change is only in a part or a few members of the species population. If the newly generated species after genetic change is better in any way, it will get more opportunity to survive and if the genetic change is against the environment, it will die. Thus, unchanged members of other species may also remain and tend to live in changed environment.
