Yes, they do have a unique solution

Proof:-

Let,

x-2y-2=0 be a₁x+b₁y+c₁=0

2x-y-4=0 be a₂x+b₂y+c₂=0

Now,

a₁/a₂ = 1/2

b₁/b₂ = -2/-1 = 2

∴ a₁/a₂ ≠ b₁/b₂

∴ the two equations have a unique solution.
