Linear momentum is conserved in elastic collision. As after collision the velocities of both colliding bodies interchange.

Shaina11: No its not necessary that velocities will interchange a..
somvanshi2132001: ok
BigSmoke: het shaina can you tell me the coeff. of restitution for elastic collision.
Shaina11: What ? Coefficient of restitution is for inelastic collision
BigSmoke: i suggest you to deeply read your NCERT for the topic Collision.
Shaina11: oh really ! Then plz u tell whats coefficient of restitution for elastic collision ?
BigSmoke: the value is 1
Shaina11: Its means the same ... We donot need that coefficient in solving numericals ...we can use conservation of momentum and conservation of kinetic energy in elastic collision
BigSmoke: hey listen if you attempt the questions which are above the school level or say the IIT level you will need this.
Shaina11: OK fine !

hi
Yes linear momentum is conserved in elastic collision
So
Initial momentum before collision = momentum after collision
Mark as brainliest please if helpful

Shaina11: So now I feel u should go through conservation of momentum topic once again
BigSmoke: Why
Shaina11: Take eg. Of bullet gun system there u1, u2 and v1 , v2 are not same but we can use COP
BigSmoke: thats the other case.
BigSmoke: we are using this as net force on a system is 0
Shaina11: I think should read it from book once ... then u will understand
BigSmoke: Stop this Argument.
Shaina11: Yup
BigSmoke: Momentum conservation theory. Read this deeply from your NCERT
Shaina11: Stop it now ... I am right but I cant explain and might u be also right.. So just leave it
