*No linear expansion is not responsible as it occurs generally in metals and in wooden door’s swelling and shrinking ( plasmolysis and deplasmolysis) is a major problem .

* This is made possible by the silver coating on the inner bottle which reflects heat thus preventing heat transfer. The glass walls have been designed to be extremely thin to prevent heat loss by conduction.

No, it is not linear expansion that is responsible for the breaking of a door during the winter season or cold  weather.

Explanation:

  • The swelling or the expansion or the shrinking of door takes place when the temperature Increases or decreases in a metal. It is not true with wooden structures.
  • The application of the Silver paint or silver lining inside a thermos aur container is done to stop the radiation from transferring as the silver lining acts as a mirror and reflects the radiation back without allowing it to transfer.
  • This lining is very thin, so it doesn't let the conduction of radiation to happen.
