brihaspati is guru of all gods and lord vishnu is supreme god,but still on thursday prayers are offered to lord vishnu,to ward off the evil effects of brihaspati graha people pray to lord vishnu.lord shani is a big devotee of lord shiva that is why ,in order to please lord shanii lord shiva is worshipped,is this the case they are not same
