Not totally same,some differences are there.

Media is not as same as mass communication but it is a form of mass communication. Media includes newspapers, radio, television etc and all these above mentioned examples are used as devices or aids for mass communication. So we cant say that media is as same as mass communication but is a form of mass communication

Mass communication is about storytelling with strategy and purpose.. media studies quit different from it..
