Melting of snow is a natural phenomenon. It sets off a series of other changes in the environment and is a necessity for survival of living organisms. However, when the melting is caused due to recklessness of mankind (global warming and pollution), then it is an undesirable change which can endanger the very existence of humans on earth.
Snow melt provides fresh water and fills lakes and other water bodies. It balances temperature for survival of organisms in these regions and provides habitat for them.

it is undesirable as we dont need that , it is excessive material and it will be as a obstacle to humans walking on roads , atleast people can get water from the melted ones
