When soda ash( Na2 CO 3 ) bonds with water water of crystallization , it is called washing soda or sodium carbonate decahydrate . Actually , due to presence of water molecules , some may be confused that it will be wet at room temperatute. But actually , its not like this .

Watet of crystallization is a part of ' Crystal Structure ' of a salt. Since , these water molecules are not free water , they do not wet the salt. Thus , the salts containing water of crystallization appear to be perfectly dry . They just give the salt their colour and structure.
