Answer:

Is it feasible to rely upon NCERT books only? In short, the answer is 'yes'. But you have to study a few supplementary books apart from NCERT books to score good marks in the examination. Generally, the question papers of board exams are based on NCERT books and the concepts explained therein.

Yes, NCERT books are important as they help in creating the basics of a student. Other reasons why NCERT is beneficial are-

  • NCERT covers 100% syllabus of the CBSE board
  • It is written in simple language so it is easy to understand
  • NCERT terms must be included in all the answers in order to gain full marks. No matter if your answer is perfect if you haven’t included the technical terms from the book, you’ll not get good marks.
  • The exercise and intext questions in NCERT appear as 3 and 5m questions in the board exams.

But NCERT should be paired with a good question bank (I found educart question bank much reliable because it is strictly based on the latest paper pattern and provides questions ranging from new to previous year one. The solutions are structured and well-explained) for complete and better preparation. Question bank provides a vast range of questions that can possibly come in the board exams.
