Barriers in business communication:

Communication is an important element in the field of business. But not all business communications are successful, this is because there are certain external and internal factors that afftects the efectiveness of communication. The are called the barriers of communication.

Types of barriers:

There are three types of barriers in business communication. They are personal, external and organizational barriers.

• Personal barriers: These includes attitude of the superiors, lack of confidence, time, awareness and unwillingness to communicate.

• External barriers: Sematic barriers such as language, signs, writing, etc

• Organizational barriers: Policies of the organization, rules and regulations, organizational facilities, overloaded information and structural complexity.

In order to avoid the common barriers it is essential for the communicator to understand the content he wanted to speak. Also mutual trust, appropriate language, maintaining inter-personal relationship, empathy, supporting action with the words and good listening supports good business communication.
