Nutrition is about getting the nutrients to grow, survive, and reproduce, as well as to regenerate and maintain body functions. There are macronutrients and micronutrients. While macronutrients are carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, micronutrients are minerals and vitamins.

survival is not possible without food .it provides energy.Food is broken down into simplest substance like glucose, which is further oxidized to produce energy (ATP). In absence of nutrition, there will be no energy, automatically, all functions and metabolic activities will seize, immunity system will collapse and a living organism will die due to deficiency diseases or other diseases that the body is now susceptible too,or malnutrition.
